One Planet Development is a planning policy brought in by the Welsh Assembly Government in 2011, as part of its One Wales; One Planet scheme. This has an objective that within the lifetime of a generation, Wales should use only its fair share of the earth’s resources, with its ecological footprint reduced to the global average availability of resources of 1.88 global hectares per person (the global availability of resources in 2007).

This policy enables people to live and work on the land, in a sustainable, low-impact way, as long as very strict criteria to lower their carbon footprint can be met.

Ty Pren is perfectly suited to building frames for homes and buildings that match the criteria of One Planet Development.
