WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR TIMBER FRAME DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Find out what our customers have to say about working with us to build their dream roundwood buildings and frames:
It’s rare to find a craftsman with such skill and passion as Jamie. He lives and breathes ecological construction, but combines it with a rare sense of imaginative design and homage to the past. I don’t think there is anyone in the UK that betters his skills in these areas. He comes highly recommended by me.

Jamie was the original designer and then the main contractor for the Visitor Centre build at Long Wood Community Woodland, Lampeter, which I project-managed. I was impressed with how he brought his creativity, problem solving skills and practical mind to the build process. Throughout the project he was always willing and able to adapt to the inevitable changes as the building evolved, and it was always with a smile on his face. The result is a building full of character and warmth, in tune with it’s surrounding environment, that stands as a shining example of what can be achieved using locally sourced timber. When Jamie talks about roundwood timber framing and low-impact building, he speaks with a passion and enthusiasm which show a real love of his subject. He designs and builds beautiful, unique structures which are the ‘real deal’ for sustainability. For anyone considering engaging Jamie for a build project, I would make no hesitation in recommending his expertise.
Working with Jamie Miller from Ty Pren was a great experience. His understanding of our needs and designing a building to suit was flawless. His workmanship is excellent and he has a keen eye for detail and precision. The building he erected has become a talking point for visitors and has set a precedent of how future structures are to be constructed and installed on our nature reserves. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jamie to anyone interested in having a roundwood timber framed structure erected that is affordable, sustainable and aesthetically pleasing.
Jamie and his team constructed a 10′ x 12′ on site office and point of sales area for our business which was much admired by our customers. Since our retirement, we have changed its use and the structure has now become a summer house in which we can sit and admire our smallholding. Work was carried out efficiently and in an organised manner. Not only was it a pleasure to watch such commitment to doing a job well but it was also refreshing to see the expert use of hand tools and traditional methods of working. Put simply, Jamie Miller is a craftsman of the highest order, an artisan with integrity. He is a star and we have no hesitation in recommending him unreservedly.
